The-healing-code-applied-to-success

Certain things in this world just go hand in hand. A car and fuel in it, for instance. Only then will the vehicle move forward to take us places. It is safe to say success tailgates productivity and holds the door for healing to walk in. We need to go another extra mile to ensure that there is productivity. Without constant motivation this can become a tough cookie to crack. However there are numerous practical steps that any person can take to ensure that their performance is unmatchable.

Every day many people experience numerous challenges that ultimately become a deciding factor on whether they are a success or otherwise. Often we are not an exception to this myriad of challenges and can really be distracted while seeking clarity all along. As a young professional myself and having worked in successful and difficult organizations, I have come to conclude that there are many principles that enable us to evolve every day. There are many paths leading to success, but the following 6 stood out for me.

These principles will enable you to step up and start a journey towards success in personal as well as professional life.

Path 1: How We Spend Our Time

Time is a non-renewable resource, and I can’t emphasize enough its importance in our day to day lives, which revolve around work and our social life. Time is a source of either success or stress depending on how you approach its importance. Just as money, inappropriate usage of time can also be a cause of stress, pressure and loss of energy.

Begin with a clear plan for the week and break it down to a day. Start noticing how you spend your time and what wastes your time. Ask yourself, if time was equivalent to money, how would you spend it? What desired result would you want? Having a simple, realistic plan can have a great impact on your productivity. Without a time plan, it is like having a boat without a compass.

Path 2: A Network of Friends

If you want to fly, don’t walk with chickens! That is what a best friend who I still hold dear once told me. The message is very clear. You need to realize if you need to go far, this is a path you can inculcate in your successful life. I will guarantee you once you assess your friends and create a new network that is aligned to your passion and success, there will be an automatic result!

You need to know that creating a new network of friends is not easy or a walk in the park; rather it is a deliberate path to success that has often been ignored. Wouldn’t you rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies?

Path 3: Personal Growth

All of us grow or evolve every day, just as successful organizations do. We definitely need to make a choice to do something, that grows us too. You spend so much time working and fueling the organization you work for. Now it is time for pay back. Fuel your life by investing in additional skills, mentorship, or exposure that makes you better than yesterday.

Explore around and see what is being offered, try something new. Invest money in a course you have been postponing. Step out of fear and uncertainty and just take that step and grow YOU!

Path 4: Prudent Financial Management

This is closely tied with how we spend our time! How we spend money says a lot of things about us. All of us admire various things and wish we could have them at one go. The number one reason for efficient personal financial management is important –it is simply because it grows our character and shows us good plans actually pay off.

Start saving, regardless of how small the amount is. I am sure most of us would say, “But I earn so little…” Go beyond this excuse and make a bold decision to save until you reach the recommend saving percentage which is put at 20% of your income.

Path 5: Journaling

There are many beautiful ideas, thoughts or dreams that pass through our mind every day and we have no way of harnessing them. Can you imagine what would happen if you started writing them down?

You can either get a note book or a recorder and start journaling these ideas. They are like a gold mine that keeps giving us ideas. Sometimes we look for answers so far away.  Yet, they are deep within us, always prompting us since we have no way of grasping them and running with them. Did a bird pass by, or did you drive past a beautiful church building?

Path 6: Celebrate Success

How many times do you celebrate yourself? Even if it is just for a small success? We celebrate other people too often and forget about ourselves.

This is the time to give yourself permission to observe and track your results. Then start rewarding yourself for every one of those moments. The celebration does not need to be something fancy or expensive. Tap into your creativity and choose what celebration fits you.

If success and healing were to walk hand in hand. One of them would have to hold the other’s left hand with their right. Only then, can they walk in the same direction together. #MovingForward
